Hi to all.
Is there a way, in QVCS, to rename a module without deleting its history? I mean, if I have a module named "MOD01.txt" with revisions until 1.23 and I need to rename it (ie: for new std constraints), then could I "move" the whole history of MOD01.txt in the renamed modue "XXMOD01.txt", starting from 1.23 revision? Thanks! Sergio Bollate - Italy |

Sergio,
this could be easily done by renaming the archive file and the workfile and rebuilding the cache. 1. Find the appropriate archive file with the Windows Explorer and rename it. E.g. if your workfile is named "MOD01.txt", the file you have to look for is "MOD01.uyu". 2. Rename the workfile accordingly. 3. Start QVCS, browse into the folder and press F4 to rebuild the cache. 4. Your're done. Regards, Stefan |

Or you could just:
1. Select the file. 2. Type F2. 3. Rename the file 'in place'. -------------------- Jim Voris -- Author of QVCS/QVCS-Pro/QVCS-Enterprise

OK, but doing so, you will loose all labels.
